Take Walks on a Regular Basis
Regardless of whether you have a dog, cat or other pet, it is important for them to get exercise on a regular basis. You may have to make some changes in your daily routine in order to ensure that your dog gets enough exercise. You may also need to try a new activity in order to ensure that your dog gets the proper amount of exercise.
Many pet owners are willing to try a new activity for their pet. In fact, 26 percent of people have stated that they have done a new activity with their pet. Sixty-five percent of people walk with their pet. Twenty-three percent of people run or jog with their pet. Additionally, 9 percent of people play flyball or an agility sport with their pet.

Not only do pets benefit from physical activity, but their owners can also benefit. Seventy-nine percent of dog owners have stated that they have gotten more physical activity since they had a pet. Cat owners also got more physical activity in.
See the Veterinarian Regularly
You should take your pet to the veterinarian on a yearly basis. The vet will do a physical exam and give vaccinations. They can also prescribe products that keep your pet free of ticks and fleas.
